The most common side effects can be effectively managed, but for approximately 30% of people who try it, lithium is not tolerable. * Dizziness * Fatigue * Headache * Frequent urination * Excessive thirst * Weight gain * Nausea and vomitting * Abdominal pain * Diarrhea * Hair loss * Acne * Hand tremors * Memory problems * Decreased thyroid functioning * Low blood pressure upon standing * Epileptic type seizures * Irregular heart beat * Damage to kidney function This is not a complete list of side effects.
